Krill Meal
Antarctic krill meal is a very strong feed attractant in aquaculture diets! The lipids in Antarctic krill meal are approximately 45% phospholipids, rich in the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Antarctic krill meal is a good source of the natural antioxidant astaxanthin and has a minimum of 56% protein. The level of protein and lipids together in Antarctic krill meal exceeds 80%, making it an excellent feed additive for shrimp feeds.
DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids are important contributors to good health in animals, and in humans. Their bioavailability is enhanced when they are ingested as phospholipids. Marine phospholipids themselves are building blocks in cell membranes in all animals.
